Our Story
After years of teaching dance at other studios across the United States, AJ and Stephanie Semiday knew the Lord was calling them to open their own studio one day. They dreamed of opening a studio that trains dancers with technical and artistic excellence, while providing a place for each student to encounter the One who matters most – Jesus! They didn’t know how or they didn’t know when – but AJ and Stephanie knew God had a time in mind – so they waited, prayed and trusted.
In the spring of 2021, it happened. An unexpected, God-given opportunity arose for them to open Upper Room Dance in downtown Bellingham, Washington. They haven’t looked back!
Mission Statement
Upper Room Dance exists to provide each of our students with the highest level of dance training in an uplifting, Christ-centered environment. We train with excellence, encouraging each student to achieve their very best as a dancer while also contributing to their self-worth, confidence, and character. Above all, Upper Room Dance desires to point our students to Jesus Christ, the One who loved them first, created them for a unique purpose, and gave them the gift of dance for His glory.
